When I stepped off the plane in Melbourne, I knew this wasn’t just a change of scenery. It was a chance to grow. My secondment to Australia was a turning point in my career. Working closely with the local Talent Acquisition team, I helped reset ways of working, build trust with stakeholders, and elevate the recruitment experience.
It reminded me of the power of recruitment when it’s truly people-first. It’s not just about filling roles. It’s about shaping futures, building relationships, and creating environments where people thrive.
Returning with a renewed perspective
That experience gave me more than professional development—it gave me clarity and confidence. I returned to London with a fresh lens on stakeholder engagement, team development, and strategic delivery. Soon after, I stepped into a broader leadership role as Head of Recruitment across the UK, Ireland, Middle East, and Africa.
The secondment didn’t just expand my horizons. It helped me see the bigger picture and lead with greater impact.

Today, I’m proud to be a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the firm. From Country Managing Partners to Group Heads. That trust wasn’t built overnight. It comes from listening deeply, communicating clearly, and collaborating with purpose.
Recruitment is about relationships. And I’ve worked hard to earn that trust. It's about showing up, being consistent, and always putting people at the heart of what I do.
Creating space for future talent
Whether it’s launching new teams, opening offices, or designing sourcing strategies, I’ve helped shape environments where people can do their best work. Many of the lawyers I’ve recruited have gone on to become Partners. Many of our Business Services professionals have grown into new roles and new teams.
That’s the long-term impact of thoughtful hiring, and it’s one of the most rewarding parts of my role.
